Making Time for School Partnerships

Many cities and towns are home to a rich array of community-based organizations, private businesses, social service agencies, cultural institutions, and universities eager to help schools reach their goals. Because these organizations have strong experience working with students and providing educational and recreational programming during non-school hours,  a longer school day or year allows schools more opportunities to partner with them, widening the array of programming, resources, and services available to students.

Strong ELT schools add partnerships with thoughtful consideration given to the match between school needs and partner capabilities and a clear sense of how the partnership will support and contribute to achieving school goals. The current ELT schools offer many examples of successful partnerships and some useful strategies for successful collaboration
