Joe Rull is the Technical Assistance Coach & Senior Advisor to Massachusetts 2020. Currently he is working with schools implementing expanded learning time, providing them with on site coaching and technical assistance. He has also worked as a planning consultant for Massachusetts 2020, assisting several schools in the southeast region with the planning process to become an Expanded Learning Time School.

Prior to joining Massachusetts 2020, Joe served as Superintendent of the Weymouth Public Schools.  He has thirty-six years of experience in public education as superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal and teacher.

Joe also served as president of his local teachers association and as an elected school committee member for six years. He has been an officer and director of the Massachusetts Elementary School Principals Association and a member of the Federal Relations Network for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees.

Joe is an alumnus of the Education Policy Fellowship Program from the Institute for Educational Leadership in Washington D. C. and he has been a presenter at both national and state administrator conferences. His work as an educational consultant is focused on school redesign initiatives. He is a School Change Coach for the Center for Secondary School Redesign and he has also served as a mentor for newly appointed school and district administrators.

Joe has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University, a Masters Degree in School Administration from Bridgewater State College and an undergraduate degree in Education from Boston College. He and his wife Mary, an elementary school teacher, are residents of Weymouth, MA, the parents of three children and enjoy their new role as grandparents.
