We invite you to join us for “A New Day for Schools: The Expanded Learning Time Summit” on Friday, November 30th from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Boston Campus Center. Click here to register.

The 3rd Annual Expanded Learning Time Summit will celebrate and explore the successes and challenges of the innovative Expanded Learning Time Initiative in Massachusetts. This first in the nation effort to redesign schools with substantially more time for learning is growing rapidly in Massachusetts. Poised to become a model for national replication, the Expanded Learning Time Initiative now includes 18 schools with more than 9,000 students and more than 100 schools that are planning to implement over the next two years. We invite you to join school and district leaders, teachers, school committee members, union leaders, community-based organizations and policymakers from Massachusetts and from around the country to explore and analyze the key issues related to creating Expanded Learning Time schools.

Hosted by Massachusetts 2020 and the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Expanded Learning Time Summit will feature Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and a broad range of other speakers. Workshop sessions will be of interest to practitioners, policymakers, and state and national leaders alike.

Please note that representatives of schools that are currently implementing and planning for Expanded Learning Time are invited to join us at 8:45 a.m. for specialized technical assistance sessions. Registration for these sessions is required.

We hope you will join us at the 3rd Annual Expanded Learning Time Summit as we continue our efforts to strengthen and grow this critical school reform initiative across Massachusetts and beyond. Registration deadline: November 21, 2007.
